FIDIDA in Finland
- acts as the service and collaboration organ for its member associations in issues concerning disability and development co-operation;
- gathers and distributes information and provides training on issues concerning disability and development in developing countries;
- lobbies for the mainstreaming of disability issues in international development co-operation
- From 2004, FIDIDA has co-operated with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in so called Quality Services Project.
Quality Services Project of FIDIDA
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has outsourced the administration of disability specific NGO-projects to FIDIDA. The main aim of the project is to raise the quality of these projects. The work includes assessment of disability project applications, project monitoring and training. This is a pilot project, in which FIDIDA has the role of an expert organisation on disability and development issues. The MFA, however, has the responsibility on decision making on funding and all other mayor issues.
ACTIVITIES
- Assessment of Development Co-operation Project Plans of the NGO´s
- Revision of the Project Reports 2003, 2004, 2005
- Dialogue/meetings with the organisations and their partners
- Training and advice for and with the NGOS
- Monitoring visits to the developing countries
